Connecticut Inmate Search

Updated on: February 5, 2024

The Connecticut Department of Corrections (DOC) is responsible for the supervision and management of inmates in its state prisons, county jails, and other corrections facilities. The DOC offers an inmate lookup service to help individuals locate individuals currently incarcerated in a DOC facility.

To find inmates in Connecticut state prisons and county jails, and other corrections facilities, you can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Connecticut Department of Correction website at https://portal.ct.gov/DOC.
  2. Click on "Inmate Search" option on the left.
  3. Enter the offender's last name or offender number (if known), and click on "Search."
  4. The search results will show the offender's name, offender number, date of birth, race, gender, and facility where they are housed.
  5. If you click on the offender's name, you will see additional information such as the offense(s) committed, sentence length, and projected release date.
  6. If you are unable to find the inmate you are looking for using the online search, you can contact the Connecticut Department of Correction's Records Unit at (860) 692-7780 or email them at [email protected].

If you are looking for an inmate in a county jail, you can also contact the county sheriff's office for information on how to locate an inmate.

Note: Please keep in mind that some inmate information may be restricted due to privacy concerns or security reasons.
