The Idaho correctional system is managed by the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC), which oversees the state's prisons, probation and parole programs, and other correctional facilities. The IDOC is responsible for the care, custody, and control of inmates in Idaho's correctional system.

The Idaho correctional system includes nine state prisons, including the Idaho Maximum Security Institution and the South Idaho Correctional Institution. The IDOC also operates several community work centers, a women's prison, and a juvenile correctional center.

In addition to the state-run facilities, there are also several county jails in Idaho, which are operated by county sheriffs. The county jails are responsible for housing pretrial detainees and inmates who have been sentenced to less than a year in jail.

Inmates in Idaho can be found in a variety of facilities including State Prisons, County Jails and Community Corrections Centers.

Inmate Lookup services are available to search for inmates currently held in any of these facilities. Individuals can search by name, inmate number or other criteria to locate the inmate's location, release date and other information.

In addition, VINELink is a free service that allows victims and other concerned citizens to find out when an offender is released from custody or transferred to another facility. This service also provides email notifications for changes in an inmate's status such as release date or transfer information.

Finally, Inmate Records are available to the public through certain agencies such as the Idaho Department of Corrections and County Sheriff’s offices. These records provide detailed information on a particular offender including criminal history and charges, facility location, case dispositions and other vital data.
